Borage

This field is growing Borage. Borage is an unusual crop, which is grown in this part of Essex owing to our proximity to the processing facility at Fairking in Gt Tey.

Borage is grown for the oil, which is pressed from the seed. The oil is sold under its common name, Starflower Oil, as a supplement. It is also used in the making of various cosmetics, skincare products and as a base for other supplements.
